Booth Consult

These has been a flurry of activity in anticipation of my participating in my very first outdoor show this fall,  The North Quabbin Garlic & Arts Festival.  Pop-up canopy purchased : CHECK.  Tables and other display furniture in house: CHECK!  Knowing how to arrange said tables and other display furniture for good traffic flow and to best show off my work...AHHHH, I think I need a consult!  In spite of her being crazy busy (she's doing the same show I am doing) my friend Lydia showed up at my door today to lend me her eye and expertise in the art of setting up a nice booth.  Who better to ask for a consult since she has over 30 years of experience doing these type of shows and has done this festival since it's inception 15 years ago.

The space is 10' X 10' and I have 2 tables, 8' long and 6' long, 2 upright wooden display racks and an apron tree, which is currently in a store so they can properly display my aprons so space had to be left for that.  The canopy has sides (not shown) which is a must since it almost always rains one of the two days  Fortunately the festival site is 10 minutes  from my house so not a big commute.  The figuring out how the booth was going to look was the easy part...now lots of items need to get made to fill up the space.  Many miles of fabric strips are going to need to get wrapped around rope and then sewn into baskets and bowls between now and then.  I have a feeling they aren't going to sewn them selves so I really need to get my butt in gear!
